Dates:_____.7 Thursday evenings, 6th Feb to 20th Mar

Times:____.  The games for all rounds begin at 7:45pm.  If you cannot be present at 7:45pm for any round, please advise the Organiser – see Absences, Delays & Byes. Players  who are late for round 1, without due notification, will be paired at the discretion of the Organiser and may be given a 0-point bye.

Venue:_____Croydon RSL Hall, Civic Square, Croydon, VIC.

Covid precautions:_____ Air purifiers in operation. Please don’t attend if you have any flu-like symptoms.

Format:____7 round Swiss.

Time control: ____60min + 30s/move. ACF Classic rated.

Prizes:___   1st: $240,       2nd: $160,       3rd: $90;

ACF Rating prizes*

Under 1600:    1st $90, 2nd $60;
Under 1300:    1st $90, 2nd $60;
Under 1000:    1st $90, 2nd $60;
Unrated: 1st  $60      (unrated players can only win this rating prize)
* If a player does not have an ACF rating, the Organiser may provide a provisional rating based on performance in other events. 
  Players tied for the same prize/s will share.

 

Registration & Entry fee:   

                        Please note: There is a limit of 42 players. 

           Members: $20

                       – Please pay to our bank account prior to round 1

Non-members: $40     

            – Please email the Organiser with your name, contact number and date of birth by Tues 4th Feb. Once registration is confirmed, please pay $40 to our bank account prior to round 1.

When depositing, please include your name in the description so we can identify you and ensure all deposit details are correct.

Requested Byes:__In the first 5 rounds, players may request up to 2 half-point byes. Notification, in writing, must be received by the Organiser prior to the commencement of the previous round or, in the case of a round 1 bye, prior to the day.

Delays & Absences: __If you are officially paired to play in any round, it is important to notify the Organiser by text message of any foreseeable absence or delay in attendance as early as you can. Failure to do so inconveniences your opponent and may result in a sanction such as enforced withdrawal and denial of entry to the next club tournament. Any such absence will result in either a forfeit or a 0-point bye.  

Forfeit time: __30 min after the start of play.
