The 2023 Victorian Junior Chess Championships were held at Glen Waverley High School in the first week of the June school holidays. Many of our junior members went along and gained valuable experience with the longer time controls and with recording moves. Hopefully, they will take this opportunity to analyse their games and improve their play.
It was good to see some of our members and ex-members being competitive against the top juniors in the state. Special congratulations to Shun Him Leung, who plays in our Senior club, on winning the Under 12 Open tournament with a score of 6.5 out of 7.
